LOCAL DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION PLAN
CLASS TITLE: Archery Coordinator
BASIC FUNCTION:
To oversee the elementary, middle, and high school Archery Program and to act as a coordinator of services for the program
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Coordinate elementary/middle/high school archery programs by scheduling gym space and coordinating with principals and athletic directors
- Coordinate elementary/middle/high school archery programs by recruiting/training coaches and by effectively communicating with them throughout the season
- Use archery to grow and develop character and sportsmanship in children and young people
- Effectively communicate with parents
- Work with Athletic Director to secure and maintain equipment essential to the archery program
- Promote the vertically aligned district vision for archery
- Help develop/oversee the archery budget to help build the archery program and to adhere to all Red Book requirements
- Collaborate effectively with the archery coaching staffs and booster organizations
- Market the archery program throughout the community in a positive way
- Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF: Fundamentals of archery; Health and safety regulations; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
ABILITY TO: Assist coaches in one or more programs, Understand and follow oral and written directions. Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: a high school diploma or GED, certificate, a minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university and one year of experience coaching in a school athletic program.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Criminal records background checks; Full-time teaching staff preferred
